When my friend told me, we could visit a Port Dover on the 13th Friday, I said, Yes, let’s do it. I didn’t know, what to expect. The main information I was given was that there was a motorcycle gathering. The trip to the city on this day was a grand experience!

Port Dover is an unincorporated community and former town located in Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada on the north shore of Lake Erie. Normally it is a quiet city, but Friday 13th changes everything. Tens of thousands of bikers and visitors from a different countries of the world come to meet here for a traditional event.
That started by a group of riding buddies who resolved to meet in Port Dover every Friday the 13th. The first gathering happened in 1981. Now, after 30 years, it is a world’s largest motorcycle rally. And it is a big deal! You have the opportunity to see a really beautiful bikes, meet interesting people, feel the unique atmosphere of a bikers community. All is well organized. In the air and everywhere around you, you can feel the special energy created by a thousand of people going their own way as riders.
Just as I started to take pictures of people, I was unsure how they would react when I asked them and if they would consent. To my surprise, they were very pleasant, friendly and communicative.
I am very thankful, that I could be a part of this festival. If you haven’t had the opportunity to participate in this exciting event, please consult your calendar to find out when the 13th of any month falls on Friday. According to my calculations it will happen again on January 13th, 2017.
